Reigate and Banstead Writes

Reigate and Banstead Writes 2021

Reigate and Banstead Writes is a local community initiative for aspiring storytellers, created by our own Librarian Kay Hymas back in 2017. Over 1,500 short stories later, from young people across the borough and we are excited to be launching the competition once more for 2021!

Let your imagination run wild! Are aliens hiding out on Reigate Hill planning a takeover of the town? Why are spies hiding in The Belfry Centre? What is the mysterious creature hiding in Mercers Lake? Have you had a funny adventure in Redhill? Write all about it!

The idea is simple: write an original 1000 word story all about our area. Your tale from your town!

Listen to Ms. Kymas on BBC Radio Surrey discussing the launch of the 2021 R&B Writes Competition!
